I joined the Sencha Naturals team in 2012 as Creative Technologist to help expand the line of green tea mints into new areas with all products made with matcha. I gave them a brand refresh that included the identity system using the existing logo, updated the packaging with a signature green color and enticing fruit imagery and redesigned and rebuilt the ecommerce website. Additional product lines have been added over the years with new families of matcha, lattes, keto creations and more.
Being the in-house designer I took ownership of the brand management to ensure the visual elements and brand values were evident and thought through in all areas of packaging, collateral, print & digital as well as for trade shows and events.
Putting my photographer hat on, I handled the brands product photography for all e-commerce platforms along with hero and lifestyle shots for social media, digital & print advertising.
I designed the Sencha Naturals website to showcase the matcha green tea based products. Design elements tie in with packaging features such as torn edge pieces, handwritten fonts along with a colorful and friendly feel reflected in the product flavors and personality. In addition to the design and product photography, I handled the migration from an older ecommerce platform to Shopify along with extensive front end customization using CSS and jQuery to achieve the desired look and functionality, responsive for all browsers and sizes.
For the needs of the sales and marketing teams, I designed a collateral system consisting of sell sheets for each product with key selling points, certifications, available flavors along with beautiful imagery. Most of all the system is easily updated and adaptable to regular changes and new products developed continually. Detailed information such as specs, item codes and UPC's are on back for retailers to easily add to their POS systems. The layout, visuals and content hierarchy are aligned with the look of the website, online advertising and social media for a consistently branded look across all touch points.
This brochure was designed to be the first introduction to the brand, providing an overall sense of the product line, brand beliefs and the variety of products and flavors - all with organic Japanese matcha as the key ingredient.
Trade shows, group activities and volunteer events called for yearly updates to our "fashion line". T-shirts, tote bags, sweaters and aprons completed the look when we represented the brand in and out of the office. *Fashion models not included.
With multiple trade shows per year and new products launched every year, the trade show displays and signage were designed to be easy to assemble and transport while being branded and visually engaging to show attendees.
